Judging Criteria

 

1 / TEXTURE

Judges will visually assess the quality of the texture for a bubble-free, smooth, shiny/glossy consistency.


2 / CONTRAST

Preference will be awarded to patterns demonstrating sharp contrast between the surface of the espresso and milk.


3 / BALANCE

Judges will review if the size of the pattern is suitable to the cup it is presented in. Judges will review if the pattern is aesthetically positioned in the cup. If the pattern involves several elements, are these elements positioned and balanced aesthetically with each other.


The lines of a design will be judged according to how crisp or sharp they are. Fuzzy or softer edges will lose to defined and clear lines. 

4 / CLARITY


The speed of delivery, personal touches and overall presentation will be taken into account. Are the sides of the cup clean? Was it worth the extra time you took to sneak in an extra stack?

5 / IMPRESSION
